Pinning items to drawings

UPDATED SEPTEMBER 17, 2026 / FORMS

If a Task List item relates to a specific location — a punch item, a safety hazard, anything tied to a physical spot — you can pin it directly to a drawing.

Before you start

The project needs drawings in the document register that the Task List is allowed to pin to. See Set up the document register.

Drop a pin while creating a new item

  1. Type the item's description in the capture bar.
  2. Tap the pin icon next to it (not the + button).
  3. Choose the drawing.
  4. Tap the exact spot on the sheet.

Your typed description carries over automatically — you will not need to retype it.

Pin an existing item

Open the item and use the pin control in its detail panel.

Managing a pin

Open the item's pin card to Move it to a new spot on the same drawing, or Remove it entirely. The pin stays tied to the specific drawing revision it was placed on. If a newer revision is published, check the item to confirm the pin still makes sense against the latest sheet.

On mobile

Pinch to zoom, drag with one finger to pan, and use the drop-pin tool the same way as on desktop. See Task List mobile tips.
