Task List photos

UPDATED SEPTEMBER 17, 2026 / FORMS

Task List photos live on individual checklist items — not on a separate Image Upload field on the form. Image Upload is a form field for photos on the submission itself; Task List photos are per item. See Configure an Image Upload field when you need form-level photos instead.

Attaching a photo

Open any Task List item and tap the camera icon. You can attach as many photos as you need — each one adds to the item; it does not replace what is already there. This works whether the form is still a draft or has already been submitted.

Viewing photos

Photos show as a strip of thumbnails in the item's detail panel — no need to open a drawing viewer. Tap any thumbnail to open it full-size; if there is more than one, tap the right or left side of the enlarged photo to move between them.

Filenames

Formis names your photos automatically, combining the form's code, the item's status at the moment it was taken, and a timestamp — so your library stays organized instead of filling up with generic camera filenames.

What is recorded with each photo

Every photo remembers when it was taken, and if it was attached to a pinned item, exactly which drawing and location that pin was on at that moment — even if the item's pin is later moved.

Markup

To annotate a photo, see Marking up a photo.
